I blatantly stole the below quote from a competitor, so I have to credit it. The quote is from Hunter Marckwardt’s Sunday blog that Heejin and I both receive and very much enjoy. Hunter is with RPM Mortgage and he is an excellent loan officer and coach, and just a great guy in general.

He is also coached by the same gentlemen who taught Heejin and me many valuable lessons. Hunter’s most recent blog was about the need for leaders to accept that everything is their fault. I resisted this fact for all too long, often resenting my team when things weren’t going well.

Finally, I got the message from Hunter’s coach, realized that everything was my fault, and started to make effective changes.

I see all too many leaders complain about their teams because they have not learned this valuable lesson.
