I believe that being a part of the JVM team is an experience that could not have been matched by any other employment opportunity. When accepting my offer with JVM 5 years ago, I became a part of the JVM family. It is unusual to find a Company where every person in the company, from the owner to the newest employee, all truly care about you and value your contribution. All my teammates at JVM are a wonderful support system both inside and outside of the office. Aside from the teammates and culture at JVM, the work is also challenging and interesting. JVM has helped me develop a passion for the mortgage industry. Through the company’s extensive training and support, I have cultivated a rewarding and thriving career. Every day at work is a challenge, and the growth and learning opportunities never end. The support system and engaging work, coupled with the excitement of assisting clients find their dream home, make coming to work fun. I am proud to be able to say I am a part of such a renowned team and that I literally helped build a company that is unmatched in the industry.
I’ve never learned more working for any other company than I have with JVM Lending. It is fast-paced, ever-changing, and just plain interesting. While other jobs or positions tend to lean towards the monotonous side after a few years, that is not the case at JVM. Each day brings something new and challenging, and it’s that which makes working for JVM so rewarding. Since a high priority within the company is placed on teamwork and overall cohesiveness, coming into work each day is something that is never dreaded because ultimately, you are coming in to work with your friends.
Working at JVM is a true pleasure. From day one, I have been treated with respect and kindness by coworkers and management. The camaraderie within the JVM Team has proven to be an essential part of our success and provides a safe work environment for all employees to make tough decisions. I feel lucky to have found a job/company with such a strong support system.
The job itself is challenging yet so engaging! Every day I employ different skills I have gained from my time at JVM, from conducting an analysis on a client’s financial portfolio to providing exceptional customer service. No two files are the same so it really keeps the creative juices flowing!
JVM sets itself apart from all other mortgage companies and has truly made a name for itself. Knowing that I am part of a team that is helping to grow the company really excites me!

Our Kudos Contest
We have a Kudos Contest at JVM that is both great for morale and reinforcing the values we hold dear. Every team member has three “Kudos” to give out every quarter. Team members email the entire office with the name of their Kudos recipient along with the reasons why the recipient deserves the Kudos. Whichever team member gets the most Kudos at the end of the quarter gets a $200 cash prize. The Kudos are entertaining and fun to read. We have samples below.
I need to Kudos Heidi for stunning stamina that comes into play time and again, as she is often the one person making sure that JVM’s Service Level Promises are upheld.
It was on amazing exhibition Sunday and Monday, as she worked straight through on both days until 10 at night, not just taking leads (exhausting on its own) but also sending follow ups, managing, marketing, and doing everything else.
Heidi does this so often that I want to make sure it is never taken for granted.
Let me also say that I realize that we need to do something quickly to make sure it does not have to be done too much more, as nobody can display that kind of stamina over and over.
In any case – thank you Heidi for making JVM look so good, so often.
It’s so pleasant to be around Kristen. She is always positive and friendly. She greets everyone with a nice sincere smile and a pleasant voice. And I love her big belly laugh!

I’m giving my kudos to Casey for killing it in trivia. Not because he just won me $10 (though that helps) but because that was truly an impressive display of trivia knowledge.
I am eager to see him go head to head with Jay!
I want to give a big Kudos to Diandra for all she does!
Most of the time she is back there typing away or helping a client get through some sort of something (I can’t hear all of it), but she is patient and diligent no matter what the challenge is.
In addition, her ability to break down the thoughts and processes in which she uses to help train Casey and Abigail is very impressive.
Finally, she is a total badass chic when she is in football mode!
I want to give a kudos to Beau!
I have no idea where we would be without him—no matter how sticky the issue, Beau is always available to help get to the bottom of appraisal crises 🙂
His emails are beautiful, he’s calm, professional and friendly on the phone, and he’s not afraid to step in with agents or borrowers to answer appraisal questions and address concerns.
We’re still in the midst of a manufactured-home fiasco (for lack of a better word), and there’s no way we would have been able to get as far as we have without Beau’s skills. We actually have a shot of getting this one closed, and it’s really thanks to him!
My first kudos of the Quarter goes to Madeline!
Madeline is always such a huge resource for me and I am constantly impressed by her wealth of knowledge and experience. I would definitely be left stranded more times than I would like to admit if it weren’t for her help!!
Not only does she help out with work things, but she can give some dope book recommendations too 🙂

Giving my last Kudos of the quarter to Denise.
Although training under Denise opened my eyes to the extent of her industry knowledge, working alongside her throughout the training revamp has left me in awe.
- Denise’s attention to detail. Her regard for the exact working of a guideline has helped some of our more difficult loans get through underwriting.
- Denise’s perseverance. She will find the answer, no matter what it takes.
- Denise’s willingness to share. If you come to her with a question, she will fully explain her answer and graciously offer her wealth of knowledge to you.
- Denise’s team-centric attitude. She will help anyone, anytime, and shop to any investor. I have never seen or heard Denise say “no.”
As many of you know, she suffered a tremendous loss recently. However, she came back to work with the same grit, ready to train, and ready to revamp the program she helped create. How anyone can come back ready to dive in after such a loss is beyond me.
The syllabus for the new training program was greatly shaped by the syllabus Denise created. Without her knowledge, advice, and training binders, we would not be as far along in the process as we are today.

I’d like to give my first Kudos to Evan!!
Firstly, taking on the role of lead taker is a huge responsibility, but Evan has transitioned seamlessly. He has taken a few tougher leads but has always handled them with poise. He also balances tech and MA duties on top of everything else!
Evan is a wonderful teammate and is ready to offer his help and expertise at all times. He always asks me how my day ahead looks and what he can help with, even if he has a lot on his plate. I couldn’t be happier to have him as my training buddy 🙂

We are a small company but we are now growing quickly so there is ample opportunity for career advancement. Almost all of JVM’s employees start out as “Client Advisors” (known as “Mortgage Analysts” within JVM) because the extensive training for that position is necessary for many other positions. Once employees have mastery in the Mortgage Analyst position, they are encouraged to transition into other areas including Loan Processing, Marketing, Mortgage Banking, and Management.
