What Our Team Says About JVM
I believe that being a part of the JVM team is an experience that could not have been matched by any other employment opportunity. When accepting my offer with JVM 5 years ago, I became a part of the JVM family. It is unusual to find a Company where every person in the company, from the owner to the newest employee, all truly care about you and value your contribution. All my teammates at JVM are a wonderful support system both inside and outside of the office. Aside from the teammates and culture at JVM, the work is also challenging and interesting. JVM has helped me develop a passion for the mortgage industry. Through the company’s extensive training and support, I have cultivated a rewarding and thriving career. Every day at work is a challenge, and the growth and learning opportunities never end. The support system and engaging work, coupled with the excitement of assisting clients find their dream home, make coming to work fun. I am proud to be able to say I am a part of such a renowned team and that I literally helped build a company that is unmatched in the industry.
Since graduating college twenty years ago, I have worked for some fantastic people, but I always wanted more. I found it with JVM Lending. The JVM culture is challenging, intellectually stimulating, rewarding and fun. But JVM provides something more for me. That feeling you get when you are driving home from work… that feeling of knowing you were part of something great that day and tomorrow you will also be part of something great. The JVM team is unlike any other. We are constantly learning, growing and discussing how we can be the best we can be. The supportive team atmosphere is motivating and meaningful. I don’t put my best efforts into my work because I have to. I work hard at JVM because I want to.
“Working at JVM Lending is not a normal 9-5 office job. I am continuously challenged to solve new problems & keep up with the ever changing mortgage industry. Every day that I walk into the office I am faced with something new or unexpected, which sounds alarming until you consider JVM’s amazing support system & training resources. I am always learning and this is what keeps the job from feeling monotonous. It’s incredibly rewarding to apply all of our knowledge to help clients get into their dream home, or even just to help them realize their financial goals.
Working at JVM is a true pleasure. From day one, I have been treated with respect and kindness by coworkers and management. The camaraderie within the JVM Team has proven to be an essential part of our success and provides a safe work environment for all employees to make tough decisions. I feel lucky to have found a job/company with such a strong support system.
The job itself is challenging yet so engaging! Every day I employ different skills I have gained from my time at JVM, from conducting an analysis on a client’s financial portfolio to providing exceptional customer service. No two files are the same so it really keeps the creative juices flowing!
JVM sets itself apart from all other mortgage companies and has truly made a name for itself. Knowing that I am part of a team that is helping to grow the company really excites me!
I’ve never learned more working for any other company than I have with JVM Lending. It is fast-paced, ever-changing, and just plain interesting. While other jobs or positions tend to lean towards the monotonous side after a few years, that is not the case at JVM. Each day brings something new and challenging, and it’s that which makes working for JVM so rewarding. Since a high priority within the company is placed on teamwork and overall cohesiveness, coming into work each day is something that is never dreaded because ultimately, you are coming in to work with your friends.

Our Kudos Contest
We have a Kudos Contest at JVM that is both great for morale and reinforcing the values we hold dear. Every team member has three “Kudos” to give out every quarter. Team members email the entire office with the name of their Kudos recipient along with the reasons why the recipient deserves the Kudos. Whichever team member gets the most Kudos at the end of the quarter gets a $200 cash prize. The Kudos are entertaining and fun to read. We have samples below.
My third Kudos goes to Diandra. Diandra has grown tremendously in the past few years operating at times singlehandedly as the pre-approval person. Her curiosity, grasp of knowledge and determination is nothing short of astonishing. She has stepped in to fill Erin’s shoes and has done a marvelous job training the newbies and managing the pre-approvals. She also keeps us entertained w/Diandra-isms. 😉
KUDOS to Heidi. Heidi is incredibly, incredibly nice and is always there to answer questions/train/give advice/help out on random projects. She is also awesome at taking leads and everything else she does. Just listening to her on the phone is great training.
My last kudos of the quarter goes to Beau. This is my second kudos to him this quarter and while I normally like to spread my kudos around I think he deserves the extra recognition.
When he was gone for two days I remembered why it was so vital to have a standalone appraisal desk. Managing and reviewing appraisals takes a lot of focus and since it’s such an important piece of our quick close, appraisals need to be given extra care. Beau does this beautifully and enthusiastically.
2017 is going to be a great year and Beau will be integral to our success.
I want to give my 2nd KUDOS of the quarter to Lindsey! The website is an ongoing project and Lindsey continues to manage and implement several changes per week. Additionally, she is overseeing the development of JVM’s new logo and brand. JVM’s brand is getting a serious (and much needed!) face-lift thanks to Lindsey’s initiative and vision! All of this on top of the 100’s of other things she is responsible for! 🙂
I’d like to give kudos to Madeline for always on top of everything. She doesn’t miss a beat when covering my desk while I was away!
I know she just got a kudos, but she needs another 🙂 And this was a long time coming.
Darcy manages expectation on the phone beautifully. She is friendly when needed, but firm if necessary. She learns extraordinarily quickly, making it look effortless.
She is always willing to take on more, and does so without complaint. She has just enough sass and spunk to keep us all in line, which is no easy task!!
I want to give Mary a huge Kudos.
There’s a million reason why, and we all know what they are.
Primarily…… how she handles herself with borrowers, realtors and everyone else either in person or on the phone.
You are awesome!
It was difficult to pick my last Kudos of the quarter… Everyone has done an amazing job in 2017. With new faces & challenges, we’ve always stuck together.
I do have to give it to Nicholas, though. It’s incredible how much he has hustled and done for our marketing this year. He’s grown into an amazing sales person, representing JVM beautifully. Above all, Nicholas is fearless. He dives in head first.
Nice job, Nicholas!
When I listened to Jeff Deis on the Altucher podcast, he kept referencing his employees who “give a damn.”
He was referring to employees who always take the initiative to fix, address or improve things when they can, rather than just leaving things status quo b/c it is easier.
And – I thought to myself that we have many people at JVM who do that, so “go JVM!”
But Erin most exemplifies that. She has done hundreds if not thousands of little fixes over the years, including new stock emails, G&I fixes, application repairs and many other things.
I LOVE how she always takes initiative to fix things, no matter how busy she is. And if she is not busy, you can bet she will look for fixes.
Go Erin! And thank you too!
My last Kudos goes to Jenna!
Jenna is amazing at her job and always happy to offer a helping hand. Plus she is the Lock Queen!
We’ve Got Food
We understand how important food is for both morale and productivity.
We focus on four pillars when we hire.
Growth Opportunities and Mobility
We are a small company but we are now growing quickly so there is ample opportunity for career advancement. Almost all of JVM’s employees start out as “Client Advisors” (known as “Mortgage Analysts” within JVM) because the extensive training for that position is necessary for many other positions. Once employees have mastery in the Mortgage Analyst position, they are encouraged to transition into other areas including Loan Processing, Marketing, Mortgage Banking, and Management.
JVM Lending takes exceptional pride in offering one of the most generous benefits plans in the industry.
