Tracking Every Referral In CRM/Database – A Must

We received the following email from a new referral source last week, after we sent out our weekly referral-status update to every one of our referral sources: “…you might be winning my business over with this… I send out 2-10 referrals a week and my old lender is [upsetting me b/c she does not track my leads] … nobody has ever tracked my leads like this before…”

We receive several hundred referrals every month, and we manage and track every one of them with our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. We tie every referral to the referral source too.

It is hard work and time consuming to diligently input every lead, but absolutely necessary.

I used to manage referrals with sticky notes and notepads, but one day realized I was losing an immense amount of business, accountability, good will and time by not tracking my referrals with the utmost diligence.

If you are still mired in sticky notes and notepads, I highly recommend an effective CRM ASAP.
