Shabnam brings a unique blend of policy expertise and community leadership to her role on JVM’s Mortgage Analyst team. Her background in financial systems and civic engagement, developed through extensive work across Berkeley and San Francisco County, gives her a natural ability to connect with first-time buyers and guide them through what can feel like an unfamiliar process.

As a Mortgage Analyst, Shabnam reviews loan applications and supporting documentation, runs client qualification scenarios, and ensures each client is matched with the right mortgage product for their goals. She works alongside JVM’s Client Advisors and Closing Specialists to keep files moving efficiently and to make sure nothing is overlooked. A graduate of JVM’s rigorous internal training program, she has comprehensive knowledge of conventional, jumbo, FHA, VA, and specialty program guidelines. Her ability to blend analytical rigor with clear, accessible communication makes her especially effective at helping clients understand the numbers behind their pre-approval.

Shabnam earned her degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley. During her time at Berkeley, she served as Co-Vice President of ECCO, mentored students through the Starting Point program, supported operations at the Transfer Student Center, and led civic engagement projects across San Francisco County offices. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her cats, experimenting with new recipes, and studying new languages.
