About Jon

Jon brings a data science background to mortgage lending, applying the same analytical rigor he developed at UC Berkeley to the detailed financial analysis required for loan pre-approvals. As a member of JVM’s Mortgage Analyst team, he combines strong quantitative instincts with a client-first approach.

As a Mortgage Analyst, Jon works directly with client documentation, reviewing income, assets, credit, and property details to build accurate pre-approvals. He runs qualification scenarios across conventional, jumbo, and government programs, identifies the loan structure that best fits each client’s situation, and ensures files are clean and complete before moving to the next stage. His data science training gives him a natural advantage when it comes to spotting patterns, catching inconsistencies, and working through the kind of complex calculations that mortgage lending demands. Jon is a graduate of JVM’s rigorous internal training program, which ensures every analyst has comprehensive knowledge of guidelines across Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, and specialty products.

Jon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was actively involved in tutoring, research, and statistical modeling projects. Outside of work, he enjoys playing volleyball competitively, exploring hiking trails, and discovering new food spots around the Bay Area.
