Internally, we do this by making sure everyone knows JVM’s primary purpose – closing loans as efficiently and friendly as possible. And, we make sure every employee always feels 100% “safe” to ask for help, contribute, make suggestions and even make the occasional mistake.
We also have frequent events like “Speed Jenga,” Flip Cup, Cookie Decorating Contests, and Dart Gun Wars.
Our most effective events, however, are off-site and overnight – to the City, Tahoe, Napa and even Cabo.
Most recently, we spent three days in Tahoe in a 14-bedroom mansion, working remotely on Friday without a hitch.
Not only were most JVM employees there, but significant others were welcome as well. There were no required activities other than just having fun – skiing, snow-play, ping pong, pool, foosball, many games and a massive bar were all available, and fully taken advantage of.
Many companies cart people off to large events like baseball games or parties, but we like to have everyone just hang out and enjoy each other under the same roof, if possible. It is very fun and very effective, and everyone benefits – including our clients.
