FHA Monthly MI rates go up on Monday, April 18th to 1.15% from 0.90% for loans at 95% LTV or higher. For loans with LTVs less than 95%, the monthly MI is and will be 5 basis points lower.
This is 0.25% increase in rates that fence sitters should well consider (and we have many).
To preserve the currently much lower MI rate, buyers just need to identify a property address and then have us order an FHA case number before April 18th. It is not necessary that a contract be ratified or anything else. And it costs nothing to order a case number.
So, if there is a slight likelihood that a property might go into contract, have us order a FHA case number before April 18th to preserve the current MI rate.
