I love going to the Dentist.
The reason is b/c his practice is so incredibly well-run.
He hired a best practices coach who helped him systematize every aspect of his business. Everything is handled like clockwork – appointments, follow-ups, procedures, billing, etc. Somebody is accountable for every task.
The office is always cheerful and immaculate, and I never have wait times. B/c the office is so efficient, the practice is very profitable and my dentist is home every night by 5:30.
My dentist is a testament to the need and benefit of total systemization (he works less, makes more money, and has raving fan customers).
Most business-people think their businesses are too complex or unique to systematize. We used to think that too. We were of course very wrong.
There is a great book discussing all this called “The E-myth.” We highly recommend it.
