Last week alone, we had four borrowers say that they prefer to work via email alone (instead of face to face or via telephone). Yesterday, we had a borrower and a Realtor tell us they prefer to communicate via text. All of these borrowers vetted us (checked us out) via our website and/or YELP before committing to work with us.
Many business coaches say that Real Estate and Mortgages will always be a “personality business” and that face to face contact is essential. That is still the usual case, but it is changing. The success of Zillow and Trulia are proving that. The success of our Yelp and website presence is proving that.
The new generation of home-buyers is all savvy, cynical, web-centric and digital-oriented. Without a strong social media reputation and digital presence, all businesses and service providers will eventually fade away.
