James Altrucher is one of our favorite bloggers and podcasters: http://www.jamesaltucher.com/. He is an exceptionally honest and straight-forward entrepreneur/author/and hedge fund manager who touches on every imaginable subject.
One of his recurring themes is to ignore the news. He never reads mainstream news b/c it is always overblown fear-mongering, and it does nothing for him. This is, in fact, a recurring theme among all of our favorite authors/podcasters. All the predictions in the press of gloom, doom, and total meltdowns never come about. Even the 2008 financial crisis ended up not being nearly as severe to most people personally as the press would have us believe.
I bring this up b/c Greece is no exception. Greece’s default has been predicted and greatly feared for years now. But now that it finally happened, the reaction and the actual effects are mild (unless you live in Greece). Greece defaulted and life goes on.
