Glassdoor (Workplace Reviews) for Talent and Customers!

When someone Googles “JVM Lending” two of the most prominent search results are our Glassdoor reviews – and nothing could make me happier!

Glassdoor is an extremely popular website where former and current team members share anonymous reviews.

And team-member-reviews can often say far more about a company than all of its marketing and customer-reviews combined.

As the old axiom goes – “how a company treats its team members is the best reflection of how it treats its clients.”

Most people are aware of this, so I love it when our potential clients (agents and borrowers alike) read our Glassdoor reviews.

Equally important though is the absolute necessity of having a robust Glassdoor page for attracting talent!

Millennials rely very heavily on Glassdoor when comparing job offers.

And when unemployment is as low as it is, any employer of any size will have great difficulty attracting the best and brightest without a topnotch Glassdoor page.

In our Digital Marketing presentations, we drive home how important it is to have a pristine and polished Google presence in 2019.

This is b/c almost every potential client and team member will Google a business before working with or for it.

A stellar Glassdoor page is an absolutely essential part of that Google presence.

Lastly – below is our most recent Glassdoor review and it is what prompted this blog.

We are not perfect and we have a long ways to go, but boy do we love seeing reviews like the one below.

Team member satisfaction will always be part of our “Why” and one of our highest goals.

I have been working at JVM Lending full-time (More than a year)

Pros

I do like a challenge, and this is pretty unlike anything I’ve ever done before.

From first interview to current assignment, I’ve worked with nothing but brilliant minds and beautiful souls. My voice counted since day one and I’ve seen suggestions I made become reality in the first week. Over a year later I’m still constantly asked if anything can be done to make my time here happier or more rewarding. I have many friends jealous of our “you WILL have fun” here culture. We’re very “work hard, play hard.” There is constant celebrating breaking records as well as just random fun office events to make sure everyone can enjoy each other outside of work, but this all happens because of sometimes long hours and complex files that take a lot of grit to get through. The team support atmosphere and real friendships that come from it are second to none. The hard work is absolutely appreciated and shouted from the rooftops. You’ll never see your ideas stolen by upper management and someone else get your credit like some of the horror stories I’ve heard at other companies.

Cons

Like many others have said, it has hard work and sometimes long hours. Most of us agree that we’d rather have too much work than not enough, but it can be draining at times. It is the nature of the industry, but we have it 100X better than those doing the same at other companies.

Advice to Management

Honestly keep doing it. We know we don’t have double the staff because we want to vet for the proper fit and protect our amazing culture.
