plant-growth-hand Everyone wants to learn how to either grow their business and/or to make their business easier and more fun.

There are numerous ways to get this knowledge, including:

    1. “How to” books like the Millionaire Real Estate Agent
    2. Mentors
    3. Coaches
    4. Major “rah rah” events, and trade shows; and
    5. Mastermind Groups

Books tend to offer too much information with no accountability.

Mentors and Coaches can be problematic b/c what worked for them may not work for you, particularly if they are no longer in the trenches (this is really important in fact).

The big events and trade shows are often all about selling with too few concrete takeaways, and again – nobody to hold you accountable.

I have tried every knowledge source, and I am now convinced that the best way to learn tried and true growth and business strategies is through a good sized mastermind group.

I’ve hit this topic more than a few times but am hitting it again b/c I just returned from a mastermind seminar, and I am always amazed by the number of concrete takeaways I get from every seminar.

For a mastermind group to be helpful, the members of course need to be producers who are in the trenches now, and they need to be willing to share everything.

In addition, the group needs an experienced facilitator who controls the agenda, screens the members, and ensures there is accountability or execution after the group events. Our facilitator charges a lot of money for this, but it is well worth it.

If you are not in such a group, you probably should find one – particularly when everything is changing so quickly.

A good mastermind group will teach you the latest and best hiring, recruiting, marketing, sales, training and software vetting techniques.
